Nutrition Counseling: What It's Like Working With a Dietitian.

Updated: Nov 12

So, you’re curious about what it’s like working with a dietitian? Lets talk about it.

First things first—we’re not about diet lectures or one-size-fits-all advice. We have honest conversations, a few laughs, and partner with you to come up with solutions that works for your actual life—no judgment, no pressure, no added stress around food.

Your initial appointment is where we get to know you better. We discuss your health history, nutrition/diet history, lifestyle, weekly schedule, and more. This allows us to really understand what your needs are, and where we can best help. The initial appointment is also where we talk about and refine your long term goals.

To make the most of your appointment, consider the following prep tips:

  • Bring a list of any specific topics or goals you have in mind.

  • Be ready to share details about your daily routine and lifestyle.

  • Try not to change your usual eating habits as you complete any food journals or tracking—The more accurate your records, the better we can support you.

  • Have any recent lab results or medical documents on hand if available. You can typically access this information on portals such as "MyChart".

Through follow-up appointments, we track progress, make adjustments as necessary, and keep the momentum going. These sessions are where we celebrate wins, troubleshoot any challenges, and refine your plan so it stays realistic and effective. You’ll leave each one feeling more confident and equipped to keep moving forward.

Whether it’s managing diabetes, improving PCOS symptoms, or learning how to balance your meals, we've got you. The goal is to make healthful eating as smooth and easy as possible. By the time we're done, you'll know exactly what works for you and have the confidence to roll with it (while still enjoying foods you love).

If you're ready to take the next step with us, lets do it. Schedule your appointment.
