It depends on your insurance plan.
In most cases a referral is not required. Soonercare and Medicare plans will require a referral from your doctor.
If you're unsure, we recommend checking with your insurance provider or reaching out to us and we’ll be happy to help clarify!
Insurance can typically cover up to 100% of the cost for medical nutrition therapy, which means your out-of-pocket expense is often $0. However, depending on your plan, there may be a small copay or deductible, which is determined by your insurance company.
If we’re not in-network with your insurance or if you prefer to pay out of pocket, we offer discounted rates to keep our services accessible.
After you schedule your first appointment, you can expect the following:
You'll receive an email our HIPAA compliant platform, Kalix. The email will include new patient intake forms for you to complete. Dont worry, they're quick and can be completed 100% from your phone. These forms are essential; if they are not received, your appointment may be rescheduled.
Before your first appointment, we encourage you to reach out to your insurance company to verify that your plan offers coverage for nutritional counseling, as benefits can vary by plan.
If you have any questions along the way, we’re just an email or message away!
